A drug trafficking investigation in Greater Sudbury ended with two arrests, the seizure of a small amount of drugs, along with a loaded firearm and $10,000 in cash. Police stopped a vehicle Thursday on Centennial Drive and arrested two men for drug offences. “During the arrest, one of the males fled on foot but was quickly located and arrested a short distance away with the assistance of the police service canine,” police said in a news release Sept. 25. Search warrant executed “Investigators subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence on Melvin Avenue in Greater Sudbury.” The searches yielded 3.5 grams of cocaine, three 5mg oxycodone tablets, three cellphones, a loaded Glock handgun with an extended magazine and $10,000 in cash. “The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $350,” police said. The men have been charged with drug trafficking, drug possession, possession of property obtained by crime over $10,000 and several weapons charges. Both men were scheduled to appear in bail court Friday.
