Sault police seek suspect in $900 theft from Circle K

Sault police and Crime Stoppers ask for help identifying a suspect in a $900 theft from the Circle K location on Third Line East on April 9.

Sault police and Crime Stoppers have released surveillance images and are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect in a theft investigation at a local convenience store.

Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District, in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, issued a plea for help on Friday and detailed the incident from earlier this month.

The incident occurred on April 9 at the Circle K location on Third Line East.

“An unknown male entered the store and proceeded to gather up merchandise valued over $900,” said Crime Stoppers in a news release.

“The suspect bagged the items and fled the store.”

Portions of the incident were captured by video surveillance cameras, and Sault police and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect.

Authorities have distributed the surveillance images and a video along with an appeal for information.

Appealing to the community

“Do you recognize this individual?” asked Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

“If you have information, contact Crime Stoppers,” the organization said in a related online video.
