Pure Country celebrates another Camping for Cans, despite storm challenges

It was a major win for the Sudbury Food Bank, as Pure Country’s annual Camping For Cans event raised money and food to help those in need in the city.

Much of the city may still be buried under record-breaking snowfall, but our friends at Sudbury Pure Country still managed to come through for the Sudbury Food Bank this week.

The fourth annual Camping for Cans event was held at the New Sudbury Centre on Thursday.

The day-long event managed to collect more than 600 non-perishable food items for the food bank, along with about $5,000 in cash donations.

“That translates into about $29,000 of potential buying power of food,” the station said in an update Friday.

“This was all for the Sudbury Food Bank. Incredible. Even after what has been an insane week for everyone, this city still steps up. Thank you.”
