Part of Route 136 in Montreal to close this weekend

Part of Route 136 in Montreal is set to be closed in both directions this weekend, according to Quebec’s Transport Ministry.

“This closure is necessary to install the steel framework for the western section of the Saint-Urbain Street overpass as part of its reconstruction,” the ministry explains.

As such, drivers should take note of the following:

Route 136 westbound:

• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.: Complete closure of Route 136 westbound between Panet Street and the entrance from Lucien-L’Allier Street.
• Traffic will be rerouted to Viger Avenue and Saint-Antoine Street West.

Route 136 eastbound:

• From Friday at 11:30 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.: Complete closure of Route 136 eastbound between Exit 4 (Victoria Bridge, Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, de la Montagne Street) and the entrance from Atateken Street.
• Traffic will be rerouted to Saint-Antoine Street.

The access ramps are slated to be closed 30 to 60 minutes before the complete closure of Route 136 in this area.

Detour routes are expected to be marked with temporary signage, and police officers should be on site to direct traffic.

The work may be postponed due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints.
