Yellowhead Trail open again

Westbound Yellowhead Trail was reopened by early Tuesday morning after being flooded on Monday.

Yellowhead Trail, partially closed due to flooding on Monday, was reopened by Tuesday morning.

The westbound lanes were closed from 97 Street to 124 Street around 3 p.m., as was 97 Street to westbound Yellowhead Trail and northbound 121 Street to westbound Yellowhead Trail.

One lane was opened just before 8 p.m. The second was opened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Blatchford station recorded 41 millimetres of rain on Monday.

Since Saturday, rainfall amounts have totalled 120 millimetres in some areas of the province.

Edmonton remains under a rainfall warning Tuesday; another five to 10 millimetres is expected as the rain tapers off throughout the day.
