Police searching for Sault liquor thief

Sault police and Crime Stoppers ask for help identifying a suspect in a series of thefts from LCBO locations across the city in August.

Sault police are investigating incidents of theft at local LCBO stores last month.

According to authorities, an unidentified man was observed stealing from LCBO locations across the city between Aug. 13 – 25.

“On several occasions, he stole bottles of liquor valued at more than $1,000 in total,” officials with Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District said in a news release.

Each of the incidents were captured by video surveillance and show the suspect leaving the stores with the merchandise.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and Crime Stoppers are requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the man.

“Do you recognize this individual?” asked Kendra Addison, the Sault Ste. Marie coordinator for Crime Stoppers, in a related online video.

As such, anyone with information about the incidents or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Sault police directly or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
