A Little Current traffic stop June 5 has led to charges against the driver of a pickup truck and a Mindemoya-based company.

Ontario Provincial Police said an officer witnessed a pickup truck towing a trailer with a skid steer that had no visible straps.

“A traffic stop on Meredith Street East in Little Current revealed several safety concerns including an insecure load, trailer exceeding registered gross weight, and improper class of driver’s licence,” police said.

“The 53-year-old driver from Mindemoya was charged with insecure load.”

A Mindemoya-based company was also charged with five traffic violations.

Police said proper load securement and compliance with safety regulations are critical to ensuring the safety of provincial roadways.
