One person in critical condition following Hwy. 101 crash, Timmins police say

A person is in critical condition after a crash that closed Highway 101 in Timmins for about five hours Sunday night. The road has since reopened.

Highway 101 East in Porcupine reopened late Sunday following a two-vehicle crash, Timmins police said in a statement.

The collision sent one person to hospital with critical injuries, police said in a news release Monday.

“The collision remains under investigation by the Timmins Police Service’s traffic section and the criminal investigation division,” police said.

The highway had been closed for several hours after the collision, reopening around 11 p.m. Sunday.

The road had been closed in both directions between Lawrence Street and Bristol Road while first responders “managed the scene and investigators conducted their examination,” police said.

“We thank the public for their patience and cooperation during the closure,” police said.
