One person hurt in head-on crash on Highway 11

One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a serious crash closed Highway 11 near Kapuskasing for five hours Tuesday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a head-on collision involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle that occurred early Tuesday morning in Val Rita, located near Kapuskasing.

The collision took place around 6:20 a.m. and closed the highway for about five hours.

“The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-altering injuries,” police said in a news release Thursday.

“The investigation remains ongoing. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.”
