A 32-year-old North Bay man has been charged with assault after he was treated at St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake on Aug. 2. Ontario Provincial Police responded to a panic alarm call around 4 p.m. “Police learned that an individual who had recently been transported to the hospital became aggressive with hospital staff, grabbed a member of the medical staff and threatened to physically harm them,” the OPP said in a news release Aug. 4. “Officers arrived a short time later and arrested the individual, who was subsequently transported to the Elliot Lake OPP detachment.” The man was charged with assault and appeared in bail court in Blind River on Aug. 3.
