A report of an impaired motorcycle driver in Temiskaming Shores last weekend ended in multiple charges for a 40-year-old resident. Ontario Provincial Police received a complaint around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 16 about a suspected impaired driver in the community. “Officers located the motorcycle in the parking lot of a local establishment on May Street,” the OPP said in a news release Aug. 19. “During the investigation, officers had an interaction with the driver who became increasingly agitated and physically resisted officers, resulting in an altercation with the officers. The driver was subsequently arrested.” The Temiskaming Shores resident has been charged with assaulting police, refusing to comply with a demand, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and using a plate not authorized for a vehicle. The motorcycle was impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on Sept. 29.
