A collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle driver Sunday afternoon near New Liskeard, Ont., sent the motorcycle driver to hospital with what police describe are “life-altering” injuries.

The crash took place around 2 p.m. on Highway 65 West at Twin Lake Road in Hudson Township.

“The motorcycle driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment,” Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

Officials later described the injuries as “life-altering” on social media.

The highway was closed between Hillview and Milberta roads until 10 p.m. Sunday evening as officials investigated the scene.

A message Monday to police looking for an update on the driver’s condition has not yet been returned.
