Ontario Provincial Police on Manitoulin Island, along with First Nations police, are investigating after a fatal shooting early Sunday morning. Police say they were called out at approximately 4:40 a.m. August 25 to a disturbance at a residence on the Sheshegwaning First Nation. It was then that a 30-year-old woman was found dead after being shot. Police say a 37-year-old man from the First Nation was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court in Gore Bay Monday. The ongoing investigation involves OPP and U.C.C.M. Anishnaabe Police Service.
