Kirkland Lake drug bust nets $60K in suspected fentanyl, cocaine, meth

A 42-year-old local man is facing drug trafficking charges after Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Woods Street in Kirkland Lake.

Officers out the search under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on May 6.

Drugs, cash and more seized

“As a result of the search, officers seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine (and) crystal methamphetamine,” OPP said in a news release Tuesday.

Police said the estimated street value of the drugs seized is more than $60,000.

Officers also recovered about $1,620 in cash, along with digital scales, other drug paraphernalia, cellular phones and ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, the man has been with three drug trafficking offences and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and remanded into custody.

Det. Const. Shelby Olson confirmed, in an email to CTV News, that the accused’s next scheduled court appearance is May 14 in Kirkland Lake.
