Jays Care invests $1.5M in community baseball diamonds, including West Nipissing’s Goulard Park

To a community a baseball field is more than just a place to play. Jays Care's Field Of Dreams program is investing $1.5 million to build or refrubish diamonds.

Goulard Park in the Municipality of West Nipissing is among 15 community baseball diamonds across Canada selected for refurbishment funding through the Jays Care Foundation‘s Field Of Dreams program, supported by TD.

The municipality applied to the foundation last summer, with plans to revitalize Field 1 at Goulard Park in Sturgeon Falls.

West Nipissing officials held a watch party on Sunday, as the official announcement of the recipients was made on TV, just before the Blue Jays’ game against Cleveland.

The Toronto Blue Jays’ charitable arm had previously announced it was investing more than $1.5 million in 2025 to build, enhance, or refurbish baseball diamonds across the country.

Since its inception, Jays Care has committed more than 20 million to 232 projects nationwide.

“Jays Care is thrilled to partner with these 15 outstanding organizations, all committed to bringing the game of baseball to more children and youth across the country,” said Peter King, the acting executive director for the Jays Care Foundation, in a news release.

“These new diamonds will be more than just places to play; they’ll be hubs for community connection where young people can get active, learn, and grow a love for the game of baseball.”

Michael Armstrong, VP of North American Brand & Sponsorships for the TD Bank Group, added: “TD is proud to again support the Field Of Dreams program with Jays Care Foundation – helping build inclusive spaces where families gather, kids play, and communities thrive. These diamonds are more than just fields – it’s about breaking down barriers, creating access to sport, and investing in spaces where communities can connect, grow, and share in the joy of the game."

The grants aim to provide safe, inclusive spaces for youth to develop life skills, learn from positive role models, build friendships and foster a love of baseball.

At this time, the exact amount each recipient will receive has not been released.
