Hwy. 17 reopens east of the Sault after transport, truck collide

Highway 17 is reopened near Bruce Mines after a serious crash involving a pickup truck and a transport truck that sent one person to hospital.

Highway 17 reopened Wednesday morning near Bruce Mines following a serious, two-vehicle collision that sent one person to hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police said the highway reopened from Highway 638 in Bruce Mines to Duff Road.

Police said the injured person suffered “life-threatening injuries ”following a collision involving a pickup truck and a transport truck.”

“The investigation remains ongoing,” police said.
