Ontario Provincial Police say a stretch of Highway 144 that was closed Monday evening following a single-vehicle crash has since reopened. The crash occurred at Onaping Lake Road in the Greater Sudbury area, sending one person to hospital with serious injuries, provincial police said in a social media post shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 17. Highway reopened overnight According to Ontario 511, the closure had affected both directions of Highway 144 between Cartier East Entrance in Cartier and Secondary Highway 560 in Gogama In an update issued just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, OPP confirmed the highway had reopened between Cartier and Watershed. Few details Authorities have not released the cause of the crash or stated if any charges are pending.
