Help find tool thieves in Sault Ste. Marie

Sault police & Crime Stoppers ask for help IDing two suspects in the theft of more than $1,400 in tools from the Home Depot on Great Northern Road in March.

Sault police and Crime Stoppers officials are asking for the public’s help to identify suspects in a tool theft.

Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District, in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, issued a plea for help on Friday and detailed the incident from earlier this year.

The incident occurred on March 11 at the Home Depot location on Great Northern Road.

“An unknown male and female were observed concealing assorted tools valued at over $1,400,” said Crime Stoppers in a news release.

“The suspects walked out of the store making no effort to pay for the items.”

Authorities have distributed the surveillance images and video along with an appeal for information.

“Do you recognize these individuals?” asked Crime Stoppers.

“If you have information, contact Crime Stoppers,” the organization said in a related online video.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of either suspect is asked to contact Sault police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
