Fog warnings are in effect Monday morning in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and North Bay, heavy rain is expected in Sudbury and North Bay.

Environment Canada issued yellow warnings for fog in all three communities, which is expected to clear up as the morning wears on.

However, a rain warning is in effect in North Bay, where up to 50 mm of rain could fall throughout the course of the day.

“Rain, heavy at times, continues,” the warning said.

“The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall ... After a break in the precipitation today, another round of heavy rain may affect the region beginning Tuesday morning.”

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Residents are being advised not to drive through flooded roadways and to watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Sudbury is expected to receive another 5 mm of rain Monday, however, more heavy rain is possible Tuesday.
