After just more than two weeks, Greater Sudbury has officially lifted the city-wide ban on open-air fires. The ban was put in place July 14. “While campfires, chiminea fireplaces, crop residue fires and other types of outdoor burning are permitted, be safe and cautious around any outdoor fires, never leave a fire unattended and always have a way to extinguish it close by,” the city said in a news release July 30. “The city continues to closely monitor the fire hazard status and will inform residents should the fire ban be reinstated.” For information about open air burning, click here.
