Regina police have charged two teenage girls after they were found in a stolen vehicle. Officers were called to the 400 block of Wascana Street on Aug. 27 at 3:35 a.m. for a report of a vehicle theft in progress. The vehicle was located in the area with help from the Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit (ASU) as it tracked the vehicle throughout the city until it came to a stop outside a residence in the area of Barr Street. Police say two female suspects exited the vehicle and were taken into custody without incident. A 15-year-old girl is charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. She will appear in Regina Provincial Youth Court on Oct. 19. A 16-year-old girl faces the same two charges, along with a charge of driving a motor vehicle without a valid drivers licence. She will make her first appearance in Regina Provincial Youth Court on Oct. 28. Neither youth can be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
