Driver killed in single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 527

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred Sunday morning on Highway 527.

The incident took place near Trowbridge Road in Shuniah Township.

Police responded to reports of a vehicle in the ditch at about 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 14.

Driver pronounced deceased

“The driver and lone occupant of the motor vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene,” OPP said in a news release Monday.

The identity of the deceased has not been released by authorities.

Police said the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing with OPP collision reconstructionists assisting.

Police are appealing to the public for information.
