Deadly week on Hwy. 69 following fatal crash near Parry Sound

Ontario Provincial Police in Parry Sound are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 69 on Thursday evening in Carling Township.

The highway remains closed in the area as police investigate the scene.

Three people have now been killed on the highway this week, following a fatal crash near Britt on April 7 that killed two people.

In the latest tragedy, the OPP said the collision involved two vehicles – a passenger vehicle and a transport truck – and took place around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday near Woods Road in Carling Township.

“The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP traffic incident management enforcement team,” police said.

The highway reopened late Friday morning after investigators completed their work.

No new information has been released.
