$22K in suspected illicit drugs seized in northern Ont. raid

A 31-year-old man from Kearney, Ont., is facing multiple charges after Ontario Provincial Police executed a drug warrant at a local residence, seizing an estimated $22,000 in illicit substances.

OPP executed the warrant at a home on Echo Ridge Road on Tuesday.

“During the search, officers seized suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy tablets and suboxone,” police said in a news release.

In addition to the suspected drugs, investigators also recovered approximately $2,300 in cash, a pellet gun, a digital scale and various packaging materials.

As a result of the investigation, the local man was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with a release order along with eight separate drug trafficking offences.

The accused was held in custody and was scheduled for a bail hearing.
