Voters in Greater Montreal, Quebec City and Sherbrooke will be able to use the Bixi and àVélo bike-sharing services for free to cast their ballots next Monday. Elections Quebec announced Tuesday that the two services would be available on Oct. 5 “to offer citizens an additional transportation option.” Cyclists who choose Bixi will be able to ride for free for up to 25 minutes on a regular bike or 15 minutes on an e-bike from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bixi operates on the Island of Montreal, in Laval, on the north and south shores, as well as in Sherbrooke. In Quebec City, cyclists who use the àVélo service will have access to the “Elections Quebec Day” pass for free, valid from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and providing unlimited trips up to 45 minutes.
