The body of a 60-year-old woman has been found inside a home in Montreal’s Anjou borough on Tuesday morning. Montreal police (SPVM) says it received a call at 5:20 a.m. asking that officers do a wellness check at a home on Baldwin Street near Yves Prévost Boulevard. “When police officers arrived on site, they found an inanimate body of a woman aged 60 years old,” said Julien Lévesque, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “Sadly, her death was determined on site.” An investigation has been launched to understand the events leading up to her death. The force says the incident is the 22nd homicide on its territory this year. Later in the day, Quebec’s police watchdog, the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI), began investigating the death of another person in Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, west of the Island of Montreal. This comes after officers with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were sent to respond to an incident. A source tells CTV News the two incidents are linked, but the details remain sparse.
