A 21-year-old man has lost his licence for seven days after he was recorded driving more than double the speed limit on Highway 15 in Laval. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the man was speeding at 210 km/h in a 100 km/h zone at 3 a.m. on Tuesday. He was stopped by officers as he headed northbound on Highway 15 near Curé-Labelle Boulevard. In addition to the suspended licence, the Laval native was issued a $2,068 fine and 24 demerit points. The SQ stresses that speeding is one of the leading causes of fatal collisions on Quebec roads.
