Shots fired in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough

An investigation is underway after gunshots were fired in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough late Tuesday night.

Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 11:35 p.m. about the incident on Liénart Street near la Dauversière Street.

“More than one shell casing was found on the ground,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “According to the first information, one or more suspects would have fired the gunshots, then fled before the arrival of police.”

There were no reported injuries, and there have been no arrests.

A security perimeter has been established to allow investigators to understand the circumstances leading up to the gunfire.
