Ontario is teeing up support for a premier sporting event, that will bring top athletes to the greens in Caledon. The government has announced a $1.5 million investment to help boost funding for the 2026 Canadian Open, which will once again be held at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley. The iconic golf tournament is expected to attract more than 130,000 spectators, generating more than $84 million in economic activity across the province. Ontario’s Minister of Sport Neil Lumsden says the RBC Canadian Open has been a cornerstone of Canadian sports for more than a century and remains an important event for both fans and the economy. “Hosting the 2026 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto Osprey Valley for a second year in a row is an exciting opportunity for Caledon and communities across our region” says Sylvia Jones, MPP for Dufferin-Caledon. Canadian golfers Nick Taylor, Corey Connors and Taylor Pendrith are expected to participate, alongside other PGA Tour Stars including Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa. First established in 1904, the event is the third oldest continuously running tournament on the PGA Tour, attracting fans from around the world. The 2026 RBC Canadian Open will be taking place from June 10 to 14.
