Motorcyclist dead after crash in Longueuil

A 34-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle collided with an SUV early Friday morning in Longueuil’s Saint-Hubert borough, on Montreal’s South Shore.

Longueuil police (SPAL) says the incident happened just after 6 a.m. on Cousineau Boulevard near Pierre-Thomas-Hurteau Street.

The motorcyclist, who suffered serious injuries, was transported to hospital, where he was declared dead.

“The incident appears to have been accidental,” the force notes.

A perimeter has been set up between Jacques-Marcil Boulevard and Cornwall Street, and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
