A gunman opened fire at a restaurant in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough on Monday night while customers were inside the establishment.

Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 10:30 p.m. about the incident on Langelier Boulevard near Lavoisier Boulevard.

“Upon arriving at the scene, police officers observed bullet holes on the front of the establishment, and shell casings on the ground,” said Manuel Couture, a spokesperson with Montreal police.

He explains that, according to witnesses, a suspect suddenly appeared in front of the window and opened fire.

“No one was injured, despite the presence of customers and employees inside,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing.
