A 34-year-old man is in hospital after a stabbing in Montreal’s Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough early Friday morning. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 12:15 a.m. about the incident on Bélanger Street near Châteaubriand Avenue. “When the police arrived at the scene, they located a victim,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “He was conscious, and he was injured to the upper body with a sharp object.” The man was transferred to hospital, and his life is not considered to be in danger. “According to the first information, a conflict degenerated between the victim and two female suspects,” said Chèvrefils. One of the women, aged 40, was arrested soon after near the crime scene. She is expected to be met by investigators during the course of the day. “The second suspect has not yet been arrested at this time,” said Chèvrefils. The investigation is ongoing.
