A man is dead after an altercation in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough late Wednesday night. Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 11:45 p.m. about an injured man in a residential building on Monk Boulevard near Pierre-Héroux Street. “Upon arrival at the scene, police located the victim, a 42-year-old man,” said Johany Charland, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “He was suffering from multiple injuries.” The man was rushed to hospital in critical condition, and later died of his injuries. “According to the initial information, one or more suspects arrived at the scene, and for reasons that remain unknown, injured the victim and fled before the arrival of police,” said Charland. The death is the 13th homicide on Montreal police territory. The investigation is ongoing.
