Woman seriously injured, man arrested after suspected stabbing in Ahuntsic-Cartierville

A woman was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, after being stabbed in an apartment in Montreal's Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a woman was allegedly stabbed Sunday morning in an apartment in the city’s Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough.

The SPVM said a call was received around 9:30 a.m. reporting the incident at an apartment on Grenet Street, near Michel-Sarrazin Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 33-year-old woman with upper-body injuries caused by a sharp object.

The woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old man inside the apartment following a police search. The suspect has not been charged.

He was also taken to hospital with non–life-threatening injuries and will be interviewed by investigators.

A security perimeter was established, and investigators were expected on scene later in the morning to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
