Woman, 2 men, to be charged following hotel shooting

Three people are expected in court to face multiple charges stemming from a Sunday night shooting in a Montreal hotel room.

Police say a 27-year-old woman (police initially said she was 18) encountered three young men from Ontario in the Hotel Elegant on St. Hubert St. near de Maisonneuve Ave.

At one point the woman was alone in the room with the young man, and police say she then pulled out a firearm and shot him in the pelvis. Initial reports were that he had been struck in the upper body.

Constable Simon Delorme said the two other men then entered the room and subdued the woman, beating her about the head and arms.

Police said the two men will appear in a Montreal courtroom on Tuesday to face charges of assault and battery.

The woman will be charged with attempted murder, drug possession, and breaking court orders related to her criminal history.

The young man who was shot is still in hospital and his life is not in danger.
