Two teenagers killed in a single-vehicle crash in Quebec’s Eastern Townships

Two teenagers were killed early Saturday morning when their vehicle veered off the road in Saint-Georges-de-Windsor, in the Estrie region.

The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Route 249. It was a single-vehicle crash, explained Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Frédéric Deshaies.

Four occupants, all between the ages of 16 and 19, were in the vehicle and were transported to a hospital.

Unfortunately, a boy and a girl were pronounced dead. The other two occupants suffered serious injuries, but their lives are not in danger.

“At this stage, it is far too early to comment on the factors that may have contributed to the incident,” said Deshaies.

A crash reconstruction specialist, a forensic technician, and an SQ investigator were on site to conduct a thorough analysis of the scene.

The road was temporarily closed during the investigation.
