A two-vehicle crash in Winnipeg’s Crestview neighbourhood left one man dead. The crash occurred on Cavalier Drive near Hamilton Avenue on Friday. Images from the scene show a damaged red car that appears to have crashed into the rear of a truck with a holding tank, sustaining significant damage. Police could be seen in the area investigating and directing traffic. Cavalier Drive was closed between Ness and Hamilton avenues. 1 death in the incident On Saturday, Winnipeg police released additional information about the crash. A 49-year-old male driver was pulled from a 2020 Hyundai Kona, police said, with serious injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators say the Kona was moving northbound on the road and drove directly into the stationary water truck at a high rate of speed. The operator of the truck was sent to hospital in stable condition. An autopsy is pending and the family of the deceased man were notified, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
