Two people in their 70s are dead after a head-on collision in Lachute, Que., about an hour north of Montreal, Sunday morning. Provincial police (SQ) says one vehicle was going east on Route 158 before deviating from its lane and crashing into a car going west around 11 a.m. The two occupants of the vehicle that was hit, a man and woman in their 70s, were transported to hospital where they died of their injuries. The driver of the vehicle that deviated, a woman alone in her car, was injured but her life is not in danger. The SQ says all hypotheses are on the table and an investigation is ongoing. The road was completely closed in the area.
