A 73-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Saint-Lazare, Que. on Tuesday morning. Quebec provincial police (SQ) said the woman was struck at around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Bédard Avenue and Ste. Angelique Road in the municipality west of Montreal. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but police later confirmed she died of her injuries. The driver, a woman, was treated at the scene for shock. An SQ investigation is underway. No charges have been laid. Second collision on same road The collision comes three days after another woman, 35, was struck and killed in the same municipality 2.5 kilometres away, but on the same road. Police initially considered it a hit-and-run, but on Tuesday said all hypotheses are on the table. Police said on Tuesday that the driver has not yet been found. The woman was struck at around 8 p.m. on Saturday night on Bédard Avenue near Saint-Louis Road, about one kilometre away from Tuesday’s collision. She was in critical condition when transported to the hospital, where she later died. Mayor Geneviève Lachance told CTV News that the two collisions “are completely unrelated to the road infrastructures.” “Since the Sûreté du Québec hasn’t yet released any details, it would be premature to comment further on these tragic events,” she wrote in an email. “Public safety remains a top priority for the City, and I want to reassure residents that we are closely monitoring the situation and remain in contact with the SQ.” With files from CTV News’ Joe Lofaro
