Ten Quebec schools scored a perfect 10/10 in annual ranking

Dozens of Quebec schools improved their annual rankings put out by the think tank Fraser Institute.

In Quebec, almost 60 schools moved up on an annual rankings list, while just over 40 declined.

Ten schools in the province obtained perfect scores.

The conservative Canadian policy think tank Fraser Institute releases annual rankings of Quebec secondary schools with report cards on hundreds of public, independent, francophone and anglophone schools based on provincial tests in French, English, science and mathematics.

The 2025 rankings list 470 schools.

Eight of the top ten schools (Collège Saint-Louis, École internationale de Montréal, Jean-de-Brébeuf, Jean-Eudes, Saint-Nom-de-Marie, Pasteur, and Sainte-Anne de Lachine) are in Montreal, with Terrebonne’s Saint-Sacrement and Saint-Alexandre in Gatineau rounding out those that got perfect 10.0 scores.

Of those schools, Collège Saint-Louis and École internationale de Montréal are considered public schools.

“Our Report Card offers parents information they can’t easily get anywhere else about their child’s school and how it compares to other schools across Quebec,” said Fraser Institute senior fellow Yanick Labrie.

Fifty-eight schools showed significant improvement, including three in Montreal that increased their scores by over two full points.

The chart below shows those that made the biggest jumps since 2018.

“Our school rankings prove that improvement is possible in every corner of the province, in every type of school serving every type of student,” said Labrie. “The rankings empower parents to make informed choices about where they send their child to school, and parents can also use these rankings to learn about their child’s school, and when necessary, ask the principal how he or she plans to turn things around.”

Forty-three schools experienced declining performance.
