A 50-year-old man from Greenfield Park with previous convictions for child pornography was re-arrested on Wednesday. Yanick Joyal was arrested in his home by the Boucherville high-risk offender monitoring team, according to a news release by the Quebec provincial police. He appeared via videoconference at the Longueuil courthouse on charges of child pornography and breach of conditions. Police say Joyal was required to comply with various conditions due to his prior convictions. The suspect’s home had previously been searched on Feb. 12, 2025, where computer equipment containing thousands of files related to child pornography was seized. Police officers regularly conduct checks on sex offenders because of their high risk of reoffending.
