A wanted sex offender has been arrested after being unlawfully at large for a second time in the Montreal area, police say. Mario Charette, 65, was arrested at around 9:20 p.m. last Friday in the Saint-Jérôme area and has been returned to the custody of Correctional Service Canada. Last Wednesday, Montreal police issued a news release asking for the public’s help to locate him after he allegedly breached his conditions. Charette has a lengthy criminal record in Quebec, including recent convictions for sexual assault involving two victims.
