“Les Grondines” cheese sold by Marché Toit Rouge Inc. (160 Brien Blvd., Repentigny) is being recalled due to the possible presence of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, according to the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ). The products affected include “Les Grondines” cheese of various weights sold from July 6 to 16, 2026. “The product covered by this warning was sold exclusively at the establishment named above,” MAPAQ said. “It was sold in a chilled state. In addition to its name, the product label bears the wording ‘Fromagerie Les Grondines Organic Raw Milk Farm Cheese.’” The recall is being issued as a precautionary measure. “Anyone in possession of this product is advised not to consume it,” the ministry states. “Even if the product in question shows no signs of spoilage or has no suspicious odour, consuming it may pose a health risk.” Staphylococcal food poisoning is characterized by a sudden onset of nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, cramps and diarrhea, usually appearing between 30 minutes and eight hours and subsiding after 24 hours. Anyone experiencing symptoms is encouraged to consult a health care professional. No cases of illness have been associated with the consumption of the recalled food.
