Quebec police anti-pimping squad arrest young man and woman

Quebec police (SQ) arrested a man and a woman who were being sought in connection with a pimping and sexual offence investigation.

Deric Methot, 21, was arrested on Tuesday in the Longueuil area, and Jasmine Larochelle, 21, was arrested a day later in the Greater Montreal Area.

Larochelle remained in custody for further proceedings, police said, after both were charged in court.

“Both individuals were formally charged with procuring, benefiting from a material advantage derived from sexual services, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and advertising sexual services,” the SQ said.

Methot was also charged with sexual assault.

According to the charge sheets from Quebec’s prosecution office (DPCP), the alleged offences occurred between Jan. 12 and Feb. 6 of this year, and involve a minor.

The SQ’s pimping squad (EILP), which works alongside police forces throughout Quebec and the RCMP, is asking anyone with information about either person’s alleged crimes to contact the criminal info centre at 1-800-659-4264.
