Quebec minister announces audit of SAAQ outage

The François Legault government announced Tuesday an audit into the computer breakdown at the SAAQ two weeks ago.

The Minister responsible for Cybersecurity and the Digital Economy, Gilles Bélanger, had blamed Microsoft for the situation, but was subsequently contradicted in a parliamentary committee.

During question period on Tuesday afternoon, he announced that he had met with his Transport colleague, Geneviève Guilbault, and SAAQ officials just beforehand.

Bélanger then announced that the results of the audit would be known within four weeks.
