Pedestrian fatally struck by car in Boucherville

A man in his 70s is dead after he was struck by a vehicle in Boucherville on Tuesday morning.

Longueuil police say the collision happened at 10:45 a.m. at the corner of Fort St-Louis Boulevard and Jacques Ménard Street.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fort St-Louis Boulevard was closed to traffic between Pierre Boucher and Jacques Viau as officers carried out an investigation.

Members of the Longueuil police forensic identification section have been called in to determine and clarify the details of the collision.
