Montreal-area man facing sex crimes allegedly used Snapchat to communicate with minors: police

A 25-year-old man from Montreal’s South Shore is facing several sex offences involving minors after being arrested by Quebec provincial police on Wednesday.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said Xavier Réhel of Boucherville is facing charges including sexual assault and breaking and entering.

According to the SQ, the accused communicated with his victims over the Snapchat and Messenger messaging platforms using the pseudonym “XAV” across multiple accounts: xrhl12, xrehel25, xavrhl, x_rehel.

The alleged events happened between October 2025 and May 2026 against multiple victims, mostly minors, in the Montérégie and Centre-du-Québec regions, police said.

Réhel drives a black Tesla Model 3.

“The investigation suggests that he may have victimized others,” provincial police said in a news release.
