Metropolitan Expressway (A-40) East closure postponed

Work is planned for the Highway 40 East from Sept. 5, 2025 to Sept. 8.

Drivers were spared a major traffic headache this weekend after the planned closure of the Metropolitan Expressway (A-40) eastbound was postponed because of weather.

The Transport Ministry (MTQ) said it does not yet know when the closure will be rescheduled. The shutdown had been set to begin Friday night and last until Monday morning, closing the stretch between the Côte-de-Liesse interchange (exit 65) and the Laurentians Highway (A-15).
