Man falls to his death from apartment roof

A young man died Wednesday morning in a failed attempt to reunite with an estranged lover.

A man in his twenties went to the Cote des Neiges Rd. home of his ex-girlfriend around 2:20 a.m. and asked to be let inside.

She refused, so he decided to climb onto the roof of the highrise and lower himself down to her balcony.

He missed and plummetted to the ground nine storeys below.

The woman called 9-1-1 and the man's body was taken to hospital.

The woman along with another witness were taken to hospital and treated for shock.
