Man arrested after armed assault at Longueuil high school

Longueuil police (SPAL) say they arrested a man in relation to an armed assault at a high school on Montreal’s South Shore Friday afternoon.

According to SPAL spokesperson Jacqueline Pierre, police were called to Jacques Rousseau High School around 12:30 p.m.

The suspect allegedly had a sharp object as a weapon. There were no injuries reported.

By the time police arrived, the man had been controlled by school staff.

Pierre said police believe the suspect is someone from the school.

He was arrested and will meet with investigators.
